Session - 23/12/2024 ; Location - Horsens
Note: An evening with both telescopes out, since it was the day before Christmas, there were plenty of time to look around. I used the main telescope manually, since I didn't want to observe for too long, neither struggle with the alignments, power cable, etc.
| Object | Observation type | Eyepiece/camera | Magnification | Filter | Note | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| M42 | Explorer 150PDS (f5.0) | Skywatcher LET (fov: 2.09°) | 26X | Skywatcher Light Pollution Filter | Like visiting an old friend. It's been a very long time since I observed M42 with the telescope, but it brought joy to have a look again |
| M31 | Explorer 150PDS (f5.0) | Skywatcher LET (fov: 2.09°) | 26X | Skywatcher Light Pollution Filter |
| M45 | Explorer 150PDS (f5.0) | Skywatcher LET (fov: 2.09°) | 26X | Skywatcher Light Pollution Filter | One of the highlights of the night, with its brilliant stars |
| Jupiter | Explorer 150PDS (f5.0) | Skywatcher LET (fov: 2.09°) | 26X | Skywatcher Light Pollution Filter | Could barely see some bands. Went back later with the highest magnification, and it was a magnificent view! With this setup, it was possible to see three of its moons (I did not look up which it was, nd which was missing) |
| Mars | Explorer 150PDS (f5.0) | Skywatcher LET (fov: 2.09°) | 26X | Skywatcher Light Pollution Filter |
| Jupiter | Explorer 150PDS (f5.0) | Plössl + Celestron 2X (fov: 0.4°) | 250X | The bands were clear, still no sign of the Big Red Spot though. Must have been unlucky timing |
